Recently, whilst enjoying a holiday before hospitality’s busiest time begins, DWS Chairman John Dickson was fortunate to schedule in a visit to one of his favourite venues, Rainbow Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
Whilst taking in the natural beauty of the club’s landscape and the new renovations, John recalled hosting the club’s Strategic Planning Workshop for the club quite some years ago.
The session highlighted the club’s unique opportunities and lit the fuse for a 5 year, $5 million redevelopment of the club, capitalising on its unbelievable location!
With a breathtaking view every direction you turn, the club sits atop the sand dunes overlooking the surf. To the south, Double Island Point. To the north, the iconic Fraser Island (K’gari).

The club has gone from strength to strength since the renovations commenced.
The revitalised clubhouse has seen the seating capacity of the bar and bistro significantly increase, an updated gaming room, and new dormitories for Surf Lifesavers.
With the renovations nearly reaching completion, members of the club are anxiously awaiting the last project to officially open…the new bar.
Whilst the refurbished bar will service the main club, members and guests can look forward to enjoying a drink on the club’s large deck overlooking the idyllic Rainbow Beach.
