Boards and committees in hospitality operations confronted by complex issues and potential conflict situations require decisions to be made. Through regular independent assessment, training and structured policies and procedures, an organisation can ensure that its governing entity acts appropriately and in the best interests of the shareholders, staff and members.

Bribie RSL came to us recently to update their Board and Senior Management’s knowledge, as well as recommit their policies, procedures and responsibilities for the club, and it was a great day with the team.

Following corporate governance workshop with the Club’s board, Club General Manager Janelle commented after the workshop that it was good for the board and the senior management team to be reminded of their corporate governance responsibilities which has been a key attribute to the success of Bribie Island’s RSL.

“As always John Dickson brings a wealth of experience in this area to the discussion with practical examples of corporate governance at work in the club industry” she said.

DWS can offer a customised corporate governance training program involving classroom-style facilitation with industry experienced hospitality consultants. Programs can be designed for a complete workshop for new members, as a refresher course for existing members or to address specific concerns of the committee or board. Workshops are generally conducted over one full day and are best facilitated off premises.
