Chefs On The Move

Share Post:

Congratulations again to Dom Olofai from Palm Beach Surf Club, winner of the coveted Chef of the Year award at the 2023 Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence in March. We were thrilled and proud to be the sponsor for this award this year and I was honoured to present the award in person.

It has been a busy time in kitchens across the club and hospitality industry of late, with Chefs being hot property right now! Many clubs have come to DWS seeking assistance with recruiting Chefs and employing Chefs Apprentices for their kitchens. No easy feat in this heavily contested market! In saying this, over the last 6 months in Dom’s hometown region of the Gold Coast, DWS has successfully recruited 4 new and talented Chefs.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Justin Zammit Executive Chef Currumbin RSL, Chris McIntyre Executive Chef Burleigh Bears Group, Nicholas Borodin Head Chef at Club Helensvale, and Rolf van der Kamp, who returns to the kitchen on the Gold Coast as Head Chef at Tallebudgera Surf Club; which is undergoing an exciting $10 million redevelopment of its catering facilities.

These future focused Chefs are also talking to CTA’s Aletia Ramscar. Aletia, who was formerly the award-winning executive chef at Bribie Island RSL, has returned to CTA Training Specialists to assist in apprenticeship recruitment and training – great to have her back on board!

So, if you’re looking for an amazing mentor and trainer for your kitchen apprentices, get in touch with Aletia Ramscar our Commercial Cookery Development Manager at CTA Training Specialists on 0432 949 100 or aletia@ctatraining.com.au.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to fill an important executive position in your kitchen or venue, get in touch with me anytime, I can be contacted on 0417 721 942 or email john@dws.net.au.
