Kedron-Wavell

Kedron-Wavell, one of Queensland’s leading Clubs, recently engaged DWS Hospitality Specialists for Corporate Governance training. Kedron-Wavell is one of several Clubs to transition to Company Limited by guarantee from the State legislation. Due to the extensive community contributions under a limited structure, Directors need to be aware of personal risks associated with a Company Ltd classification. DWS Hospitality Specialists has extensive exposure to the structure of Clubs and was ideally placed to assist with corporate governance initiatives for this iconic and very successful venue.

Murgon Services Club

John Dickson and Simone Barber from DWS Hospitality Specialists had the privilege of helping Murgon Services Club develop their inaugural strategic plan. The thorough and inclusive planning processed identified that the Club is a strong position. However, the Club, and their local community, would benefit from a facelift with new amenities, such as new kids’ facilities and a renovated gaming room. Murgon residents have a good reason to be excited with plan in place to take the venue to the next level!

Runaway Bay Leagues Club

DWS Hospitality Specialists recently assisted Runaway Bay Leagues Club with Corporate Governance training and a biannual review.  This is an important process as the Club is a

Company limited by guarantee, which is a different structure from most Clubs in Queensland that are State registered. The ‘Limited’ classification places far greater responsibilities on Board Directors, who require ongoing review and education. The significance of this training was not lost on DWS Hospitality Specialists, with John Dickson stepping in to guide the Directors on their learning journey.

CSI Ipswich

Off the back of difficult times in the past, CSI Club Services Ipswich has risen to be one of the best performing Clubs in Queensland with Natalia Onoprichuk winning ‘Club Manager of the Year’ in 2021. To continue this momentum, DWS Hospitality Specialists recently conducted a Corporate Governance workshop, an annual training session to help Board Directors navigate the complexities of having 2 sub-branches and a Club Committee. The session brought various governance opportunities to the forefront ensuring the Club’s leadership remains strong and collaborative.
