There’s Nothing Mini About the New Look Oxley Golf Club Renovation

Share Post:

After two years of planning, Oxley Golf Club has completed its new club renovations and the exciting new Mini-Golf for golfers and families, a first in Australia, and at a time when many golf clubs have found operational costs limiting their potential to modernise their clubhouse and maintain the course at a standard they would like.

Oxley Golf Club, under the stewardship of is the Club President, Glenn Sellick, and Club Manager, Aaron Muirhead, who is also President of Golf Management Australia Qld Division and on the National Board of GMA, embarked on this amazing journey during tough times but the outcome is simply outstanding.

Oxley Golf Club continues to forge ahead with the completion of the remainder of their renovations, including an expanded lounge and deck section with panoramic views over the golf course and the new Mini-Golf marketed as Top Stroke by Oxley Golf Club.

The 18 hole Mini-Golf course is fully licensed and floodlit for night play, it has its own entertainment area under a large canopy, as well as lawn entertainment areas. The Mini-Golf has been open for six weeks and despite adverse weather, the members and the public have shown an incredible interest and patronage of the Mini-Golf and Mini-Golf food and beverage sales have been pretty good too!

The golfers and family Mini-Golf being a first for Australia, was designed by David Pelz, a legendary golf coach of players such as Phil Michelson, Mike Weir, Aussie – Steve Elkington and many more. The club was encouraged by its Patron, local MP Milton Dick and Charlie McGill General Manager at Maroochy River Golf Club, which operates one of the most successful Mini-Golf operations in Queensland.

John Dickson and DWS Hospitality Specialists were appointed by the club as feasibility consultants for the project, more recently Oxley Golf Club commissioned DWS to draft the club’s new constitution. We are absolutely thrilled to be a part of this exciting new time for the club and are looking forward to a bright future for the club!
