Recently, the club’s Directors travelled to Townsville and Cairns with the Carina Leagues Spartans men’s and women basketball teams. The women’s team unfortunately just missed out in Townsville but were successful in Cairns, while the men’s team scooped the pool in both Townsville and Cairns.

Whilst in Townsville Carina Leagues Club Board Members, which included DWS Chairman John Dickson, took the opportunity to visit the Cowboys Leagues Club. They were shown around the venue by Clint Williams the General Manager, who highlighted improvements they’ve recently completed and others to be developed.

The Directors then went on to Brothers in Townsville where the General Manager Justin Wilkins showed them the current plans for rennovation work at their club, including large children’s play facilities, which seems to be getting a lot of traction in clubs at the moment.

In Cairns prior to the basketball games, the Directors met with Jamie McIntosh Chairman of Cairns Brothers, in addition to reviewing the club’s recent outstanding reservations constructed by Rubicon, which certainly takes the club to a new level of quality.

The Directors then spent some quality time with the Chairman of the Cairns Brothers Club, discussing significant areas of club rugby league operations. It was a fantastic trip all around, and we are just so proud of the Carina Leagues Spartans teams for their outstanding sportsmanship and accomplishments!
