With all the changes coming through the Queensland Incorporations Act and regulations affecting all Queensland Club Constitutions, many Clubs are taking the opportunity to get on the front foot with a new constitution.

Club Pine Rivers commissioned John Dickson DWS to write a brand-new constitution to meet the requirements of the Club members and the board recently.

There was a lot of work with the Club’s Constitution committee and DWS to make the Constitution, simpler for members to understand and to ensure that the Club’s board had a platform to run a multi-million dollar business, which is vastly different from when the club’s constitution was last reviewed.

All the original meetings with the Club’s constitution committee and a members forum paid off with the members unanimously approving the new Constitution.

In the last six months or so, in addition to Club Pine Rivers, DWS had been commissioned to write new constitutions for, Oxley Golf Club, Tin Can Bay Country Club, The Brisbane German Club, Palm Beach Bowls Club, Currumbin Rugby Union Club, Mermaid Beach Bowls Club and Aspley Leagues Club, just to mention a few.

The extensive exposure of DWS to these complex issues over a significant period has allowed us to identify successful solutions and draft amendments for the best outcome for hospitality organisations.
