More Room to Roast

Share Post:

Our Chairman, John Dickson, and Group General Manager, Aaron Bray, had the rare pleasure of being invited to preview Black Bag Roaster’s exciting new multi-million dollar roasting site this month! It just so happened that the company’s managing director is our Chairman’s eldest son, Craig Dickson, who is somewhat of a legend in the Australian coffee world.

Just 20 minutes from Melbourne airport and ports, and 22 kilometres west of the city’s CBD, this new $10-million roasting site forms one of the industry’s largest investments in the past 20 years.

Black Bag Roasters Site

Located in the suburb of Truganina, Black Bag Roasters (BBR) is now home to a 4000-square-metre-site that will set the company up for future growth prospects. Prior to the launch of the new Truganina factory, BBR operated out of Richmond, a 1500-square-metre roastery that is shared with Nomad Coffee Group’s specialty roasting arm, Veneziano Coffee Roasters.

With coffee featured across national retail stores like IGA, and international hotel chains like Minor Hotels Hospitality Company, it is no wonder this growing business needed more room to roast!

If you would like to find out more about the company and the new roasting site, visit the Black Bag Roasters website today.
