Rarely does a marketing or communications professional have the opportunity to take on such as diverse role at a modern full-scale Queensland Community Club. This family-orientated community club has an enviable growth record and exciting multi-million dollar plans for future development with a commitment of service to its 19,000 members and local community.

Nambour RSL Club boasts 3 modern dining facilities, bars, entertainment lounges, state-of-the-art gaming room, sports bar and function rooms. The club is already a proven success but now needs a qualified, motivated and creative communications professional to drive the club’s marketing, media and communications activities.

As the primary communications officer, you will join a team of established hospitality professionals to further develop and enhance the brand and constantly refine and develop strategic marketing initiatives for community engagement.

Your role will involve developing, executing and measuring marketing and communication activity as well as:

  • Develop, improve and measure brand perceptions in the local community
  • Prepare and implement marketing & communication strategies
  • Develop, implement and measure promotional events
  • Motivate staff to understand and immerse themselves in special events
  • Develop research programs that guide business strategy
  • Undertake business analysis to determine the marketing performance measurement
  • Proactive community engagement strategies for positive outcomes

You will be responsible for all aspects of marketing, media relations, communication, advertising, entertainment and promotions. Ideally you will possess the following;

  • Demonstrated practical experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the not-for-profit, retail or hospitality sector
  • Tertiary qualified in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field
  • Highly developed computer literacy skills in Office programs including Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Photoshop, Indesign or other desktop publishing software
  • Proven record in producing high-quality and creative communications materials, including promotional materials
  • Attention to detail and ability to self-motivate
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media communities and digital communications
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills

Your ability to develop and implement a marketing plan that incorporates the various outlets of the business including food, beverage, gaming, functions, entertainment, branding and public relations will be a vital component of the Club’s success.

Experienced marketing and communications executives from outside the hospitality sector are encouraged to apply, particularly those with a proven track record in local area marketing and high volume/high frequency business activity such as the retail sector, journalism or media.

A competitive salary package will be offered in line with the responsibilities of the role and the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
