2020 What a Year!

Even with the ups and downs of 2020 a lot of venues had some great stories to share with us. These stories were the most read out of all the stories we published for 2020.

Even with the ups and downs of 2020 a lot of venues had some great stories to share with us. These stories were the most read of all the stories we published for 2020.  We received numerous emails about how our readers enjoyed feeling connected to the rest of the club industry and hearing about how everyone was travelling before, during and after COVID-19 lock downs and restrictions.

Here is our look back to our Out and About stories for the year.

Rockhampton Leagues Club

Rockhampton Leagues Club opened an amazing new sports bar The Paddock and Sports HQ.  Congratulations to Danny Finch and the team. Read the Story Here

Carina Leagues Club

Carina Leagues Cub announced their state-of-the-art renovation in early September.  They shared their plans for the new Alfresco Café and soon to be completed Sports bar. Read the Story Here

Gympie RSL

Gympie RSL showed us the plans for their fresh new look in September to help take them through COVID and to carry themselves into the future.  The new upstairs renovations are now complete with work continuing for the rest of the club.  Read the Story Here

Club Burpengary


The new Club Burpengary finally started emerging out of the ground after COVID-19.  Construction by the Comiskey Group in a well-appointed location near shopping and transport is a much-welcomed addition to the Burpengary community Read the Story Here

Bribie Island RSL

Bribie Island RSL proved it was the hottest club in Queensland led by the amazing General Manager Janelle Barraud.  They shared with us their dog and bike friendly café and their kid friendly Lego room.  Read the Story Here.

The Waves Club Caloundra

The Waves Club Caloundra have been working hard at promoting the enjoyment of lawn bowls to their regulars and broader community with a new fit out at the club.  Something very few clubs had the opportunity to do during COVID-19. Read the Story Here
